You will be studying: HND in Nautical Science (Part 2) which comprises of the following units:
- Marine Passage Planning & Management of Bridge Operations
- Applied Marine Meteorology
- Ship Stability: Theory and Practical Application
- Marine Vessels: Structures and Maintenance
- Management of Vessel Operations
- Shipmasters Business & Shipboard Management
- Nautical Science Graded Unit 2 & Unit 3
- Marine Engineering Systems
- Information Technology: Applications Software 1
- To hold a valid OOW unlimited, II/1
- Certificate of Competency
- Should have completed 12 months’ watchkeeping service while holding an OOW unlimited
- II/1, Certificate of Competency
- Discharge book entries verifying sea service
- Watch-keeping certificates to support all watch-keeping sea service
£7300.00(GBP) that includes 3 months mandatory preparatory course at Springdale Academy of Maritime Education and Training (SAMET) INDIA (accommodation and food included) and 6 months study at East Coast College
Having successfully passed for all elements required, you may apply to the MCA for your Chief Mate (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency. This will entitle you to sail as a Chief Mate on any sized vessel trading worldwide.
Courses commence in Spring and Autumn
